FAVOURITE HERBS FOR SPRING CLEANING OURSELVES
So many good herbs coming our way in the springtime! Think sweet violets, nettles, cleavers, chickweed and dandelion…
Not only are they beautiful and fragrant, they also have amazing health benefits that are perfect for supporting our bodies as we transition into this new season! Think of them like nature's way of giving us a spring cleaning from the inside out - helping to support our lymphatic system and liver to assist the filtration and transport of toxins in the body.
One of my favourite ways to incorporate these herbs into my routine is through teas. Not only are teas a great way to internally enjoy their benefits, but brewing a cup of tea can be a relaxing and enjoyable experience, a winding down ritual down after a long day. I love sipping on a warm cup of nettle tea, which is great for supporting the immune system and promoting healthy skin.
But spring herbs are not just for drinking! I also love using them in my herbal skin care. Sweet violets are amazing for their anti-inflammatory and soothing properties, cleavers are great for detoxifying and toning the skin and dandelion also is well-known for its detoxifying properties (both inside and out!).
So as we welcome the new season, let's embrace the beauty and healing power of these amazing herbs. I encourage you to incorporate them into your diet, your skincare routine and simply enjoy them out in nature.
